In the very beginning of the online training class you seem to downplay the value of a novel or revolutionary idea. Sometimes it is true that straight up hard work and persistence pays off, as exemplified by the steam cleaning guy. However, like the disruptive innovation Mr. Broderick talks about, many of the entrepreneurs you highlight did have a great new approach to an existing problem (Craig’s List), had a great idea to help an underserved market (immigrant financing) or even brought a novel new concept to change the market (disposable electric toothbrush).

I concede that the new and novel isn’t always a prerequisite, but it is that belief in the transformative idea that is often at the root of the motivation that drives the entrepreneur and is at the heart of our stubborn persistence.

My 2 cents.

Gentlemen- Glenn's short interview really hit home. When I sold my company to a large NYSE organization, I made the mistake of going to work for them as Vice-President of Sales. Glenn is right. Big corporations will suck the like out of an entrepreneur. They are like oil and water. Just doesn't work.

This is a great video and how true not to be a naysayer, especially to our kids. Why not just say, "Wow, what a neat idea, tell me more about it...."

My daughter was just complaining to me the other day, that I always give her a reality check on things....I'm going to try to stop doing that from now on and be more positive!

It's my belief that most people don't develop their ideas because of their fear of failure. Here you have a successful entrepreneur who not only admits failure, but ensures that he does it quickly.

I will be putting this video on my blog because it is something as many people as possible need to see and hear.

Thanks for a great site!

Who would have thought that such a simple idea or modification in the way one does business would make the difference between run of the mill and wildly sucessful.

Ultimately every business startup is the same. Try something; if it sticks then do it again and again until you get some traction. If it doesn’t stick change something and try again. You must be in constant communication with your market both physically and emotionally following a continual adjustment process. Is there any other way?

When you are starting out, its hard to conceive that growth can cause your business to fail. You assume that your income will come in to meet the expenses. A young team might not have the experience to manage that kind of growth, even though they think they can.

Way good! The entrepreneurial mindset is observent and inquisitive. They see folks in better places and ask why not me: the non entrepreneur finds the road block and makes it his/her excuse, the entrepreneurs answer to that question is "I will find the road blocks and remove them".
